Yeah but these days Vauxhall = 100% GM Opel (or whoever owns it these days_, whereas Holden just had a Vauxhall badge slapped on.

The warranty no longer applies once the car is sold 2nd hand.

The same is true for the lifetime warranty on my old saloon's Powerflow exhaust.

The vxr8 is the only good vauxhall at the moment because its not a vauxhall. I find vauxhalls so immensley unappealing take the 2000 astra why buy one as opposed to a focus, or even a 306. And why is the vauxhall badge still used why cant they all either be vauxhalls or opel because i think opel does all the design just uk models are named vauxhall, it would make sense if all right hand drive yokes were named vauxhall but nope down in the ROI its all opels. GM is a confusing company.

my mate owned a vauxhall astra VXR, wot a car it was brilliant, it shifted like sh*t of a shovel,

wasnt vauxhall going bust ? maybe the lifetime warranty thing is a thing to make buyers buy all their cars before they go bust

Vauxhall went bust about 70 years ago and got swallowed up by the General of general motors, or else he bought vauxhall. So they are merely a subsidiary, and so is opel, but i think opel is the main part of GM europe and vauxhall is in fact a subsidiary of opel which is a subsidiary of GM so its not exactly a pure breed you get when you buy a vaxhall thats what puts me off them. At least peugeot owns itself and Citroen doesnt use tracing paper over peugeot drawings for their own cars. Theres that reason for not liking vauxhalls and also the manner most novas are drove.

It is advertised as "a warranty that could last a lifetime".

I think that this is misleading.

"Oversteer" is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"Horsepower" is how fast you hit the fence.
"Torque" is how far you take the fence with you.

i dislike vauxhalls because of their drabness, my first experience in a vauxhall was a nova with bloody orange seats, and orange blooody carpets. It smelt like cheap materials, i got carsick in it, it broke down it was sh*t and ive never liked a vauxhall since that day. They are a bit too soulless, and in my opinion are just flat pack furniture and the ikea supplying them the flatpack is opel, does vauxhall play any part in the development? why is there a seperate badge, and the biggest question why buy one when ford exists.

My biggest concern, other than vauxhall being sh*te is a company offering a "warranty that 'could' last a lifetime" because it will be way beyond repair before you hit the 100,000 mile mark !!!alternatively you'll be so cheesed off with the car you'll get rid of it for pennies after a few years.

vauxhall trim levels are also pitifully bland life, club, envoy, comfort, and whatever one ive been in i can see no difference, and no significant isolation from the fact this isnt a nice car to be in.

When I call for a taxi and a Vauxhall turns up, I sigh because I know I'll have backache by the time I've gotten out 3 miles later. What do they make those seats out of? Concrete?

Me and the two kids pretty much flatly refuse to travel in her indoors' Astra, it's a grim place to be and we all state it makes us feel ill (although that could be her driving :supafrisk: ).

The seats are shocking.

I'm trying to persuade her to get an old V70 Volvo at the moment but she keeps saying it'll be "too big" etc...........not something she says too often

Welly, it's time to admit you really want the V70, (& possibly a labrador), then you can give Mrs Welly the scary T5, while retaining the ability to pose near it when you feel the need.

We won't tell anyone, will we guys?

no point in the v70, you need the xc70 which has all the ability of a jeep without being a jeep
