Re: My GTX

Okay.
I think you need to remove the AC compressor to get the sump off - so a regas is definitely on the cards...

Re: My GTX

Can you Helicoil it?

Not possible with the 2.2Hdi sump as there is a pipe in the way - not sure about the 2.0Hdi though...

PTFE?

Re: Mondeo 2.0/2,2 tdci

Yes, but you will need spacers - maybe 15mm.
Nimrods from a 406 will fit, careful not to accidentally buy the same design from the 206 though.

Re: Mondeo 2.0/2,2 tdci

I personally really like the Hoggars - I've had no issues in balancing them, luckily there is an excellent tyre place (Tyreland) at the end of my road.

If I still had my 406 I would have gone for a set of Lincancubars from a 308 - they look ace on the 406.

Re: Mondeo 2.0/2,2 tdci

+1 Sounds like a right money pit, I would have also walked away tutting, why can't people be more honest in the description.....
It makes you appreciate the 406 more :cheesy:

Re: Cruise Retrofit on HDI (90) Siemens 801 Full Mux

I think the 307 has a different throttle setup, and there is a unit under the passenger side dash that controls it all. Sorry I can't be specific, but I don't have a 307 to reference.... Also, look through all the PP2000 menus for cruise control activation - I think there is another one tucked away ...

Re: ABS Gremlin

If PP2000 cannot give you a definite 'corner' where the problem lies, try the footwell connector... The signal from the rear abs to the abs block can be disrupted here. As you said, I believe a dodgy reluctor ring will pop a fault when moving, not at the self test - so I think it's a wire issue. Thi...

Re: 7 seater wanted

If i still had mine I would let you borrow it - however once the boot seats are occupied there is very little space left for luggage, unless you have a roof box. If you are travelling light, a 7 seater is fine, just bear in mind the little ones are travelling at 70mph backwards - much potential for ...

Re: Remote locking ceased

I think it's the fuse for the headlight washers that is shared with the obd port.....
Hope you get it sorted, although I never did

Re: Mondeo 2.0/2,2 tdci

Yes, I remember your interior being the same - one of only a handful I have seen with it :cheesy: If I remember rightly your 406 is a nice well maintained example, you would be hard pushed to find a Mondeo that has had the same level of care. Did you ever get the rear lock mechanism and engine fan s...

Re: Mondeo 2.0/2,2 tdci

I personally think they are good looking motors, and if I had a bigger budget I would have got one instead of the 406 - which I was happy with in the end anyway.. I think the engines are the same block as the PSA cars, just different fuel systems. My friend has a 2008 2.2 diesel Mondeo and it's been...

Re: Add comfort module

I activated it on my old 2004 executive model, but it didn't work... Other locking extras did, but not that :(
I think on some it has though - does your remote locking work?

Re: Replace driver's seat

Truthfully I've only replaced the seat base part, not the seat back/bolster part - sorry. However to remove the seat is only 4 bolts and a couple of connectors - less than 10 minutes work, so you could remove your driver's seat and lay it upside down next to the RHD seat to compare and take pictures...

Re: 406 HPi

I didn't realise that one of the under carpet connectors carries the signal from the rear abs to the front of the car - this is what was wrong with Sonia's car / old car / new car...... I'm not sure if there are engine wires there, but a chap on the Coupé forum replaced his entire engine loom with a...

Re: 406 HPi

Forgive me John, but I am no expert.....
To me the 'short circuit to positive' makes me think of a break in the wire between the sensor (map or fuel pressure) and the ECU
Is it a permanent fault or an intermediate one?
Best of luck with it anyway - it's a great car otherwise.
