Re: PP2000 help

I just bought a cheap laptop from eBay and installed the disc, however it took a few tries.
I have since installed PP2000 on other people's laptops with success, so I believe Cliff has just a Diagbox CD and not the PP2000/Lexia disc.

Cliff, try the link above - it should hopefully sort you out.

Try this link.... http://www.mrv6.co.uk/software/Diagnostic_software/PP2000lexiactivator.rar As you already have the hardware - the above link is a proven and reliable source for the software, should you chose to reinstall. Courtesy of Chris (MrV6) on the Coupe forum. Without seeing your laptop page...

Re: ROLLING COAL

Rolling Coal isn't my idea of fun, I don't get it... However, unlike the older 406 with the XUD engine where you can turn a screw on the pump, the Hdi is completely different and can't be adjusted manually, as far as I know. With a basic remapping tool and a laptop then you could make changes to the...

Well it's nice to hear positive feedback - general 406 owners are nice people....
I may message him later as I could do with a couple of bits for my 1998 Coupe :cheesy:

Re: PP2000 help

Correct.
There are several options on the main page, only Peugeot Planet 2000 works...
Then 4 options, you only really need the test by ECU option, then global scan to get you started.

Re: PP2000 help

Hi Cliff, well done on getting this far.....
Your DAM code is 9586 - the first 5 digits minus the 0 ( obviously later cars will have a 10 as the first digits, not 09.. )
Sometimes the DAM number is referred to as the RPO number - both the same thing.
EZRC is your paint code.

Re: Radio too loud (RD3 PU2473A)

I don't mean to sound rude, but do you press the F1 button to confirm the change?
I'm thinking you should select the Amp output...
I think the volume level correction applies to the volume of the stereo increasing the fastest you drive..?

Re: Tyre profile

If you fit the 215/65/16 then you will gain an extra 27mm in height, and your speedo will be 7% out. You could find a 205/60/16 which is better and will be 10mm larger with a 3% speedo inaccuracy. I use this site - www.willtheyfit.com as a fitment guide, simply enter your current size, and the size ...

Re: Peugeot 406 3.0 V6 saloon for sale

It's an R reg, so it'll be the earlier J4 engine with 194bhp, not the later J4S with vvt and 210bhp.
This is better in some ways, less to go wrong and only 2 downstream cats. The newer engine has 4 cats and more complex wiring, but each to their own.
It's a nice car btw. :cheesy:

Re: need advoce maf sensor

Some people have had good results with a cheap eBay MAF sensor, however it's a bit of a gamble - there are always offers on genuine ones at ECP and the like. My wife's old Picasso had the MAF unplugged for 4 years with no consequence other than it somehow affected her ability to park. I'm with DDD, ...

Re: Now look who's got a Volvo...

I've always liked the Volvo's, especially the older ones ( showing my age now ) and the new ones are much more suited to the average driver, rather than Antique Dealers that need a cavernous boot.... How does it 'feel' compared to the Focus? Peter, most of us here no longer own a 406 - so no need to...

Re: Engine management light

It should find it on its own accord.....
If not, you can have a peek at the ECU in the engine bay - pop the cover off and slide the ECU up to reveal a label on the side.

Re: Trip Computer and Outside temperature not displayed

I fear that an illuminated MFD with the ignition off could be water under the carpet on the right hand side of the car ( drivers side if in UK )
There are 3 big connections by the pedals that are BSI related, worth checking under the carpet thoroughly.
