Re: Oh deer.

Venison with a twist of washer fluid with a headlight shard. Heston would be charging hundreds.

Re: Earth Mod on MAF

If you're having trouble with the TPS then try cleaning it out. http://www.406oc.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=19303&p=191872 I used to cycle two of them as my 406 ate them regularly. From what little I know about the programming in the ECU the MAF really does have to work as the ECU will bring up an er...

Re: Siemens HDi bubbles & hard starting......

Mine always had bubbles in too. I also found that the bulb doesn't go solid like it does on the 1.9

Is it just in the cold? The HDis do use the glow plugs for starting, but only when it's very cold does it put the dash light on to ask you to wait.

Re: So when do you all slope off for Xmas?

Ollie - I've just got off the phone with your boss and the oil change you did last week on the Airbus A380 is leaking a bit, pilot reckons you didn't torque the sump nut enough; he's 'murdered' it up as much as he can using an adjustable spanner from the BP garage but they're asking if you'd pop ba...

Re: The 'who owns a 406' survey thing; for all members

Seriously considering ditching the 407 and getting a 1.9 to run on veg.
Doing 30k per year 40p/l at 45MPG compared to 120p/litre as 65MPG comes out at about £100 per month

Re: DMF gone

 Agreed: probably best to do it rather than buy another car as you're just swapping problems that you do know about for problems that you don't know about. Those prices are a bit steep. I had the DMF on my 407 replaced for less than that. Is it worth considering a solid flywheel? The 110 seems ...

Re: Oh noes - the MOT man will be looking for DPF's

"It is an offence, under the Road Vehicles Regulations to use a vehicle which has been modified in such a way that it no longer complies with the air pollutant emissions standards it was designed to meet". 406's pre-date the emissions standard by some years, so only have to meet the same standards ...

Re: Advice on niggly issues...

There's this too. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/291765968246 Are you sure? That says 1920HH. I noticed a lot of the descriptions say 2.2 HDi but it's not included in the cars list. Why do they have to make so many bloody different parts for, erm, the same part :x Just how many different MAF sensors doe...

Very nice. Love the cream leather.
I very briefly drove one belonging to a chap who came for a PP2k session. Vanilla 2.2. You certainly wouldn't want to be dragging it around with a 2.0 110.

Re: Advice on niggly issues...

Is it 1920LK? (1920HH for 2.0 HDi)
Neither Euro nor GSF seem to have one, and they're hard to find on eBay.
Cheapest I could see is £80 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171376889437
