Re: Diagnostic report for the bewildered...

Mostly intermittent. They could be things that happened only once months ago. Clear them all and see what -- if anything -- comes back.

Remember to change the oil in the autobox. Peugeot say the auto is sealed for life and this is a vicious lie.

Re: AL4

Someone beat me to it. Good job I checked the ad before I set off. Looks like aussiefrogs are the experts on the slushmatics. There are bazillions of solenoids on the valve block and it seems that two of them are known to be iffy. Surprisingly straightforward to replace -- if there's enough space to...

Re: AL4

Agreed slushmatics are dreadful, but it's not for me, and it'll be the lesser of two evils compared to the current lemon 307. OK, so it looks like the valve block is located behind a panel on the front of the gearbox. The block itself is 'just' a metal block with a maze of channels and so doesn't re...

I'm going to look at a 307cc as a possibility to replace the one we have that's a lemon. It's a good price but (because) the autobox is described as 'clunky'. What's the chances I can get away with a few oil changes? Or some solenoids? They're cheap but how much will I be looking at for labour? Or i...

Pressure washers

Hi,

I'm on the lookout for a pressure washer, ideally something that can be fed from a water butt. Any recommendations? Ta.

Re: Welly drives in that Germany, Caution: Mercedes content

But, but but... It's all lies!!! 14-9-2012: Strange problem of indicators flashing the wrong side. Fnar. For years the French have been leading the way with bizarre electrical problems but evidently the Germans are catching up. Anyway, being German: it's supposed to do that because if it wasn't sup...

I'm surprised that not going to zero isn't bringing up a fault -- it does on the diesels, for example if you take up too much slack in the cable.

Re: Doser valves

The air doser is a pair of butterflies in the air intake which: * can divert fresh air to bypass the intercooler (this is why there are two). the intercooler is bypassed during DPF regen. * throttles fresh air when the EGR is open in order to encourage exhaust gas recycling, and * slams shut when yo...

Re: Key programming....

Hi & welcome, Yes, you get different screens and options on different models, and even on the same model from different years. That's why it asks you for the build code when it starts up -- so that it can configure the screens. So, basically, you never know what's what and you have to work through t...

Re: Driving according to the road conditions

Indicating on roundabouts has always been beyond most people  Start to indicate left as you pass the exit before the one you want. My pet peeve at the moment however is people trying to join the motorway who meander aimlessly towards the end of the sliproad then have a tantrum if you don't mov...
