Re: Project All Smoke, No Poke :)

Tried to snap the keys and use them to no avail; they are just like any other 406 radio from what I can tell. One hole either side of the radio.

Re: Project All Smoke, No Poke :)

Interesting project. Similar to the wifes car. She is not a fan of the wood either. How do the the fake wood panels come out? How did you find that Millers stuff? The drivers side bit of trim just pulls out. The passengers side has screws on the inside lip of the glovebox :) Take them out, key them...

Re: Project All Smoke, No Poke :)

Nope, can't find anything useful online, the only philips removal tools I can find for sale look like this: http://www.radio-code.co.uk/images/detailed_images/ISO_keys.jpg Maybe someone else has one and can help you "out" with it. I'm thinking about snapping a key I have and trying to use both ends...

Re: D8 immobiliser

ok, no worries then  not that I'm going to do this, but did I read somewhere on this forum that if you unpluggd the keypad when the engine was started, it disabled the immobiliser ? just curious... Try it! I know on the 306's if you disconnect the transponder from the ECu when the engines star...

Got it off :) Undid the screw where my finger was with a normal torx bit... http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g16/Bailes1992/DSC00574-2.jpg Found a screwdriver which fitted the Torx bolt and used lots of pressure upwards to lossen them enough so I could get my fingers in the gap between the cowlings...

Re: Project All Smoke, No Poke :)

when you change the radio, use 2 nuts on each arm thingy. mine kept having a tendancy to work themselves loose, which was quite annoying! I'd like to know ho to get the radio out. I've tried two screw drivers and it wouldnt budge and the keys I have for my Mums car are for radio's with two holes on...

Re: Indicator 'tick' issue??

Do you think I could use a bigger drill bit than the holes and make the holes going upto the screws bigger? Re: Indicator 'tick' issue??

The screws are tiny tiny torx but they're so far up inside those little holes I couldn't get my torx set to them, as I said I got a long thin chisel screwdriver to them, it was just the right size to fit across the torx and turn it. The bottom half comes off, the top half has a lump of fabric to so...

Going to take the cowling off today.
Does anyone know exactly what type of screws are there?
And also does it just come off once unscrewed or is there clips?

Re: type d8 or d9

This is interesting.
My Uncles down tommorow and He's got a D9 HDi Rapier so might be worth me spending some time comparing them both his and my D8 D-Turbo quality wise. Shame I can't take mine out at the moment as my indicators catch fire
