My pugs.

Oh look, there's a forum for photos. Look it even mentions photobucket (where's the "banging head against wall" emoticon?) http://i222.photobucket.com/albums/dd196/steve_earwig/D8D901.jpg Yes, I know the D8's springs are sagging. Hitting stuff like curbs and speedbumps all the time was the reason I ...

Indicator bulb strangeness

A funny thing happened on the way to the MOT (or equivilent), one of my back indicator bulbs blew, when I pulled it out I noticed that it'd once been orange but the box of spares (which we have to carry by law here) only had a clear one. Oh dear, how sad, never mind. They never worried that they wer...

Yes, similar things on numerous cars. On my first car (see my avatar) when the needle had got to zero and moved back up to a quarter full 3 times I knew it wasn't joking any more.

The pic in the middle very much looks like an injector. It looks like it's damp too, whip the inlet off and check the union on the top to see if it's wet and maybe tweek it up a little, though not too much of course.

Dying Duck

Is it me (or my ISP) or does this site seem to spend a lot of time on its back with its legs in the air? While I'm here, there doesn't seem to be a way to upload pictures into this forum, everyone seems to stick them elsewhere and use the URL. Is there a favourite website to do this on who don't min...

You need the right tool to remove the injectors on the 2.1, the needle lift sensor has a wire to it so the tool needs a slot cut in it. I took mine to Pug, they took it in but 20 minutes later they called me back to tell me they didn't have the right tool... Tools... However, they did tell me where ...

Mainly just the electrics, everything else (touch wood) is OK Apart from the ECUs for the airbags and speedo I've not had any electrical gremlins, probably because they don't shovel salt everywhere at the first sign of frost (old cars here don't rust either, there's all sorts floating about, a Fiat...

It goes to 30+ here and the air con in my D8 is fantastic. Then it does have "hot climate" fans :cheesy: .

Oil change? Pah! You know it's gonna get messy so wear gloves and have a stack of newspaper and rags ready, investing in some sort of drip tray wouldn't go amiss either. Use a strap or chain wrench on the filter too, you're not very likely to get it undone with your hands (and never, never, never ha...

But the centre of the disc is always relatively cold since a) the main braking isn't done there and b) it's got the hub as a heat sink. Warped discs usually come from a high-pressure grip on a red hot disc from the caliper whilch causes that section to cool down at a different rate to the rest of t...

I hit "foreign drivers" 'cos that's all we've got here... Ok, it says Great Britain but they're pretty darn lousy and I can't imagine one lasting long on UK roads: absolutely must overtake the car in front at all costs! - blind bends, brows of hills, cars stopped at pedestrian crossings*, oncoming P...

My 406 occasionally has to double up as a builder's van, which is why I'd never go for a 407 estate - tiny boot. What were Pug thinking? Smaller than a damn glof!
