Re: Possible ABS Fault?

If the A.B.S light does not come on with the ignition, that's a mot fail.

I would suggest someone has been tampering,
Because the A.B.S light staying on is a well known problem for 406's

Time to start investigating :?

Re: squeaky creaky rear suspension

I can honestly say, I don't know :(

I tried various types of spray lube, nothing worked :frown:

The good news is it's past two mot's with me & passed both, with just a snigger at the squeaking

Could be that it's dry, mine doesn't get driven in the wet if I can help it.

Re: squeaky creaky rear suspension

My coupe does the same :frown:

It's all the rear rubber bushes in the suspension arm's.

I have tried lubrication to no avail, but a full suspension overhaul is in the planning.

Re: Wiring in a tow bar

Just checked through my old posts,
It's terminal 4 on the near side, pop a 20amp fuse into holder 15

As I said mine was removed from another car which it had been fitted to by the after market company Towsure.

Re: Help, trying to remove head 2.0 hdi

Sorry for the out of focus picture  Probably due to arm shake due to lifting off the head assembly complete with manifolds turbo ect. Not ideal but it work's :? I am convinced that the plastic thermostat housing that I referred to, was broken off by jameslxdt in his post. I decided to leave it...

Help, trying to remove head 2.0 hdi

Hi all, Anyone out there with service box account please advise me how to remove the plastic thermostat housing that goes into the end of the head, the whole assembly. I've unbolted it all but there's a metal coolant pipe that comes out of the back & runs under the manifolds. I don't want to break i...

Re: Remote locking ceased

Corrupted electrics, due to lack of power / standing :(
That's the very reason I decided to fit a new battery to my coupe with a battery conditioner connected :?

Worked for me, good luck with yours, you could try the bsi reset

Re: £450 2004 Estate S hdi 90. 90k miles. Mot Dec.

Why bother, 168k is nothing for one of these. Lot's of them have done north of 300k with no issues
At 90k it'll soon need all the same parts replacing that yours will probably have already had.

ie: cambelt / waterpump, aux belt / tensioner / crank shaft pulley, & at 168k I'm guessing the clutch.
