Re: Low Brake fluid warning.

Sounds like the old faulty handbrake switch, I've not had this on mine yet.

If your desperate & wish to fault find, the glovebox switch is the same part.

Re: Crank pulley bolt problem

Eric, When it was last done, did it have a new bolt installed ? The reason I ask is I've done mine twice now each time with a new bolt from the main steelers. These bolts come with locking paste already on them, this can make them feel as though there picking up as you wind them out. I have always d...

Re: Going to stop lurking now...

Welcome in! As doggy says the 406 is a nice familiar comforting thing to flop into at the end of a hard day and it'll waft you home without any fuss. Arguably, no definitely, the best car Peugeot ever made. It's such a shame to see numbers dwindling and people giving up on them when faced with a fa...

Ouch, I've got an e-class Merc that weighs about the same as a house (it's about 2.5 tonnes or something ridiculus) and even that will run 40mpg just ambling around town, 60 on a run!
Ahh! & I though your coupe was your daily, not another toy :cheesy:

Re: What year D8 up to ?

Hmmmm. You should be safe with a year 2000 bonnet, as I think anything newer than a T reg is D9 ( some T reg could be either ) however Monaco Blue is a D9 only colour :cheesy: Didn't know that mate, re Monaco blue  but I think the bonnet I've been offered is China blue So a respray is on the ...

What year D8 up to ?

I know it probably sounds like a daft question but my 02 406 needs a new bonnet  It's been getting worse for a couple of years, well with the amount of work I've put into the old girl I want to replace it. So how to identify a Mk1 bonnet to a Mkll, the one I've been offered is year 2000 ...

Re: OEM wheels for brembo V6

will I be able to upgrade to brembos? "upgrade" is not the correct word to use there... The soggy, squeally, expensive and difficult-to-maintain brembo brakes are by far the worst part of the v6 coupé. When I had mine I wished I'd upgraded to brakes from any other 406. mjb, Dare I say it but yours ...
