Re: Glowplugs (HDi)

Hi, it certainly sounds plausible. I would definitely change the CTS, I don't think they are too expensive - and has been suggested before that you can plug the new sensor in before fitting it to see if it changes things. It's not an issue I ever had in my 2.2hdi, in fact I've never changed a glowpl...

Re: Sinking brake pedal, not master cylinder

Hi. The brake servo shares it's vacuum supply with other engine components - so I guess a gentle press and there is enough vacuum to work, but a sudden vacuum request means there is a shortfall.... Check your vacuum pipes for split ends etc, and if you can access a vacation gauge then this will help...

Re: 406 Back seat

I've just looked at Frank's video on YouTube, there is a big black metal bracket - so it seems you may need to lift the front slightly, push the whole base backwards and up to clear the bracket, then slide it forwards.... If you have an estate, the base just tilts forwards if you slide your hand dow...

Re: 406 Back seat

I think you have to lift up the front of the base, and slide it towards you.....?
I've only had estates which are completely different.

Re: 2.2 GLX for sale

Not too shabby to be honest.
It's a good base if you are looking for a 2.2hdi - most niggles can be sorted with a trip to the scrappers.

Re: Anyone want to take 2003 Diesel 406 Estate off my hands?

Derek, I believe this one is a Monaco Blue, whereas yours looks like China Blue - judging by your tyre picture.
Yours should say EGED** in the drivers door pillar sticker.

Re: Rear door handle

I've had this on some of my estates - always the rear drivers side in my case... Try walloping the door near the solenoid whilst using the remote to see if it frees it up. It's possible to remove the rear door card when the door is closed, you can fold the rear seats down to get to the fixings - I t...

Re: My new 406 project #2

Car is now sold. I didn't truly appreciate how much water was coming into the car when it rained - it was like a water tap had been opened behind the dash.... It wasn't the sunroof drains, and once the rubber bung was removed from under the car then most of the water came out. Peter suggeste...

Re: What year D8 up to ?

Hmmmm.
You should be safe with a year 2000 bonnet, as I think anything newer than a T reg is D9 ( some T reg could be either ) however Monaco Blue is a D9 only colour :cheesy:

Re: 406 02 front bumper

Hi, welcome :cheesy: The saloon (sedan) and estate (break) models have the same front bumper - the Coupé is different. It's not too hard to remove.... Open the bonnet, remove the front grill. Remove the headlights - 2 x 10mm bolts at the front, one 10mm bolt tucked down the side. Remove the wheel ar...

Yes, the parts are the same for both saloon or estate.
I've only owned estate cars anyway - until I bought the Coupé :cheesy:

Re: Rear wiper problems

Sorry, I forgot I had a D8 tailgate on my D9....

There are some relays down by the satnav unit, or the space where it would be, but I don't know for definite if thats where the rear wiper relay is.

Re: OEM wheels for brembo V6

Yes, no problem.
You will need the calipers, and also the brake pipes to suit as the bleed nipples are in a different place on the Brembos - I got a set from HEL online for £33.
