Re: Mondeo 2.0/2,2 tdci

Yes, I remember your interior being the same - one of only a handful I have seen with it :cheesy: If I remember rightly your 406 is a nice well maintained example, you would be hard pushed to find a Mondeo that has had the same level of care. Did you ever get the rear lock mechanism and engine fan s...

Re: Mondeo 2.0/2,2 tdci

I personally think they are good looking motors, and if I had a bigger budget I would have got one instead of the 406 - which I was happy with in the end anyway.. I think the engines are the same block as the PSA cars, just different fuel systems. My friend has a 2008 2.2 diesel Mondeo and it's been...

Re: Add comfort module

I activated it on my old 2004 executive model, but it didn't work... Other locking extras did, but not that :(
I think on some it has though - does your remote locking work?

Re: Replace driver's seat

Truthfully I've only replaced the seat base part, not the seat back/bolster part - sorry. However to remove the seat is only 4 bolts and a couple of connectors - less than 10 minutes work, so you could remove your driver's seat and lay it upside down next to the RHD seat to compare and take pictures...

Re: 406 HPi

I didn't realise that one of the under carpet connectors carries the signal from the rear abs to the front of the car - this is what was wrong with Sonia's car / old car / new car...... I'm not sure if there are engine wires there, but a chap on the Coupé forum replaced his entire engine loom with a...

Re: 406 HPi

Forgive me John, but I am no expert.....
To me the 'short circuit to positive' makes me think of a break in the wire between the sensor (map or fuel pressure) and the ECU
Is it a permanent fault or an intermediate one?
Best of luck with it anyway - it's a great car otherwise.

Re: 406 hand brake

Have a look in the Knowledge Base on the home screen - our member Jasper5 did a how to guide to make it work to the best of its ability.

I've just adjusted the er, adjuster  every 6 months or so ( when I greased the caliper sliders ) to keep it working fairly well.

Re: Replace driver's seat

...only the drivers airbag has a different connector on later ones.. If this is true, my driver's airbag is with different connector and will not fit with passenger's connector. Sorry, I meant drivers steering wheel airbag - the seats are all the same connector for both the drivers and passengers s...

Re: Airbag Diagnostics

Good work :cheesy: As you said the newer cars have a trigger 1 and a trigger 2 and to be honest it's normally the connectors on the airbag itself that cause problems, so well done in using the Comms connection instead. As you have PP2000, it's possible to simply mark the airbag as 'absent' which wil...

Re: Replace driver's seat

I think the airbag connector for the airbag under the seat is the same - only the drivers airbag has a different connector on later ones..

How bad is the seat? Its possible to change only the foam part of the seat base, so you keep the LHD seat levers and runners, but the foam from the RHD on top.

Re: The BMW recall

Ford Pinto anyone...?? Google wrote.. Reports range from 27 to 180 deaths as a result of rear-impact-related fuel tank fires in the Pinto, but given the volume of more than 2.2 million vehicles sold, the death rate was not substantially different from that of vehicles by Ford's competitors. The far ...

Re: Tailgate handle where number plate lights are

If I remember correctly, it's held in by 2 10mm bolts accessed from behind - watch out for sharp edges... The interior panel is only 2 torx screws for the handle, then it just pops off, start from the lower edge first and cover the grey clips with your hand or they ping off into a different dimensio...

Re: Radio/cd player swap

Do you mean like an aftermarket Pioneer or something? If so, you only need a fascia infill which is about £8 on eBay ( I had one before and the fit and colour match was good ) You will loose the remote stalk function, unless you buy an expensive patch lead, and your display won't show the tracks or ...

Re: Non-406 1.6 TU series engine problem

Recoding the keys should fix it - it's the original chip that the car has forgotten - the 4 digit PIN and PP2000 should work. Don't forget to do all the keys that belong to the Hpi at the same time....

How about something different?
I like the silver too - grey is just painted on brake dust and black is for Corsas...

Have a look at this and tell me what you think?
