Re: WANTED estate 1/4 panel & rear bumper 2003

I've broken one before, I found it hard to get rid of the body panels due to the colour, but all the engine bits sold easily....

Re: WANTED estate 1/4 panel & rear bumper 2003

Ah, so yours is darker ( Delph Blue and Rhodes Blue are the same colour, I believe )

It's quite a rare colour, in comparison :cheesy:

Re: Steel Wheel Bolts

I've been using the bolts from the Picasso's alloys on replacement steelies for about 3 years now - I don't even check them for tightness anymore as they have never shook loose... The steelies are from a 406, I bought them as they had brand new tyres and the missus kept gently* brushing* kerbs with ...

Re: WANTED estate 1/4 panel & rear bumper 2003

Hi, China Blue is quite a dark blue - there is only one darker blue which is Rhodes Blue - and that one is almost a metallic black.

You will have a sticker on the driver's door pillar, near the hinge - there should be a number halfway down - something like EGED** - this is the paint code.

Re: Caliper painting

I chose a light blue for my calipers, and I painted them in situ ( removed from the disc but hanging by the brake hose ) and they came out okay. No primer, just a quick wire brush, then painted with a brush - it's a thick paint that takes a while to dry but will creep into the dips. I have a friend ...

Re: Fault code unknowns

Yes, the cam sensor is slightly hidden inderneath the wires that are running across the top/left of the engine itself - although if it was faulty then the car wouldn't start...

The Air intake sensor is the MAF, its showing a fault as its unplugged :cheesy:

Re: Fault code unknowns

Hi, have a look in the Knowledge Base Articles on the forums home page - you will find a topic called ' the list of doom ' All the codes are there, I would have a look but I'm in the middle of dinner... Ignore the pre/post heating relay fault - they all seem to have it and it doesn't really affect t...

Re: Speaker upgrade

I'm pretty sure* the fronts are 6" and the rears are 4" on the estate. One option is to find the JBL system from an executive - which I did to find it sounded no different - or look on Amazon for some Pioneer 3 way coaxial which I bought for my van, I'm quite happy with the price and sound but I'm n...

Re: Another MOT shake up

My last smoke reading was 0.01 - which I think is good :cheesy:
2.2hdi with no FAP, or EGR, mapped to 175bhp, 30 - 70mph was something rediculous like 4 seconds.
Best overtaking car I've owned 8)

Re: 03 estate broken roof rail

I don't have one, sorry.
Pop to the local scrappy and have a look, but I think you can get to the bolts without removing the headlining but you risk creasing it as you bend it down to see the bolts..
Best try it on a scrap one first :cheesy:

Re: New member

A replacement will need coding - some sellers can code the stereo for you before posting it off, if you give them the vin number - or a local member or main dealer can code it after its fitted if it's convenient. Just to add, you could fit a Connects2 or Yatour instead - it's an adapter that the ste...

That's a good price.
Truthfully I fitted the new ones, then got the old ones sliding thanks to a hammer and a vice, then lubed them up and sold them on 8)

Re: New member

Hi Wag, welcome to the club 8) The 406 is a great car (but I guess you know that already) and is great value in the second hand market - some are really cheap as the list of issues is long but not really anything some time, effort, patience and fresh enthusiasm can deal with. The CD player can be te...
