Re: Peugeot 406 2.0 HDI 90HP, cold start problem

Hmm, I'm out of ideas - sorry. Maybe you could clean the crank sensor (brown plug on top of gearbox) and also clean the cam sensor (top left of engine, hidden under the injector wires) which could help and won't cost any money..... There is also a fuel pressure sensor on the back of the pump, this c...

For the record, the 3rd piston is in the fuel pump, it shuts off some fuel when not in demand.
It's the orange plug on the fuel pump.
Certainly worth a go :cheesy:

Re: Peugeot 406 2.0 HDI 90HP, cold start problem

Hi, welcome. My initial thoughts were injectors - I must admit I'm surprised you changed just 3, not the full set - I bad injector will certainly affect the starting in the morning Maybe change the CTS, it's not too expensive and relatively easy to change - a faulty one will give all sorts of proble...

Re: Undecided

The rear door locks sticking is common, one of my rear doors was stuck once but perseverance with the key, lots of locking/unlocking and gently banging the door around the lock area eventually freed it - it was fine ever since. Rear calipers are also common - sometimes it's cheaper to find a new set...

Re: hope its going to be worth it !!

Yeah, its easy to overlook. Without the throttle clip in place, or if there is slack in the cable - you will only ever get part throttle no matter how hard you plant your foot in the carpet......
Its the first thing I check when doing 406 diagnostics on the laptop.

Re: 406 estate, heater blower just stopped this morning.

I've said it before, there are only 3 usual suspects for a failed blower motor... 1 - Resistor under the passenger dash, a £20 eBay part but check the wires first as they sometimes melt... 2 - Ignition leads behind the barrel, also a £20 eBay part, can sometimes be diagnosed by wiggling the key in t...

Re: Data has been deleted from BSI eeprom

When my friend David has similar issues with his car, he sorted all the faults by lifting the carpet, removing 2 gallons of water and removing the corroded connector and simply* soldering the wires together... Initially the headlights were constantly on, the wipers and horn were not working, and the...

Re: hope its going to be worth it !!

That's not too bad, and all the things you have replaced are things that should last a good few years..
I can't remember about the get up and go issue - have you checked the throttle cable clip is in place and taken up any slack?

Hi, it could be the turbo, as if the DPF has been blocked for some time then its a chance it has clogged completely and the back pressure has ruined the turbo seals..?? Maybe the EGR is blocked? Blocked fuel filter? If you are local to Bournemouth I'm happy to have a peek ( I have the Peugeot diagno...
