Re: My new 406 project #2

It probably is..... :cheesy: Today I plugged in PP2000 to check some bits and bobs - mostly the cabin temperature sensor as Doggy said it was reading a little high.... http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d20/GingerMagic74/IMG_20180719_141737010_zpsp4i3d34d.jpg He isn't wrong - it seems the sensor thin...

Re: My new 406 project #2

Yes, not to worry.. I removed the headlights today - turns out that every fixing point on them was broken... http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d20/GingerMagic74/IMG_20180718_125544655_HDR_zpsgf9vffyp.jpg However, my spare lights will do until I find a nice passenger side one ( my spare is a bit yell...

Re: Arterial spray anyone?

I'm watching this on eBay..
My friend Rob has just parted with his tubby, which was a mess but the engine was cracking :cheesy:

Do people still buy these to transplant the engine into smaller Peugeots - creating a sort of desirable death trap..?

Re: My new 406 project #2

Just realigned the drivers side doors - they were hitting at the top which was taking the paint off - but 10mins on the hinges and latches has sorted it..

Getting there :cheesy:

Headlights next.

Re: My new 406 project #2

I've just spent a little time on it during my lunch* hour... I've removed and cleaned the fan/sensor combo behind the interior light, removed and contact cleaned the rear wiper relay, removed the number plate lights ( definitely a D8 tailgate on a D9 ) and bent the headlight brackets back into shape...

Re: power loss and oil leaks in RHZ engine

Hi. The solenoid on the left (looking at the engine) is the turbo solenoid - unplug the pipe behind the front one and you should feel/hear the vacuum on your finger - no vacuum no turbo. The MAF is important, a defective one will give bad readings, but if you unplug the grey connector then the readi...

Re: My new 406 project #2

I think this one is the one to replace the one in France, however Alistair's Nephew in law was selling his 406 which is better than this one - so he bought that and sold his old one... Steve, Doggy has gone through the car with PP2000, and the climate doesn't work as one of the sensors is duff. The ...

My new 406 project #2

Well, seeing as its been nearly 2 years without owning an old China Blue diesel 406 estate - I thought its about time I bought another one.. http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d20/GingerMagic74/IMG_20180715_115502638_zpsodxbfio4.jpg http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d20/GingerMagic74/IMG_20180715_115...

Re: New 'stricter' MOTs...

As far as I can make out among all the scaremongering and panic selling, is that the car must have a DPF if the car was manufactured after 2008 when the Euro5 rules can into play, although there are some exceptions. Cars prior to this date only need a smoke test, which they can still fail if there i...

Re: Rare Peugeot 406 HPI PETROL FOR SALE

There has been two Hpi 406s recently - one was a metallic red saloon, one was a silver estate - both were spares or repair as they had reliability issues. I didn't see the final price though. I know your car is possibly the best example of the Hpi executive around, it's been well maintained by Dai a...

Re: Mondeo 2.0/2,2 tdci

Looks good, the Mondeo Estate is a handsome motor, I like the half leather too.
Enjoy it, it's a blast to drive - it's not easy to find the balance of performance and economy, but the 2,2 diesel engine is a decent compromise.

Re: Cleaning leather

Hi.
I used Gliptone on my tan leather - it had great reviews but struggled to get the worst of it off..
I simply used Flash cleaner first ( although it isn't suitable it did a good job ) and used the Gliptone products to maintain the leather after...

Re: Ebay Etc. Just "Run-In" 406s

True, but it's £300 less than the lower mileage diesel saloon - and I'm sure this V6 would put a smile on my face ( and a hole in my wallet...)

Thanks for the help Steve :cheesy:
