Re: Very Lumpy Starting 406 HDI 2.0 2004

True, if the mount is worn it could break the flexy part of the exhaust....

Re: Very Lumpy Starting 406 HDI 2.0 2004

Hi. I'm thinking you have a worn engine mount, which explains the judder upon starting... As for the warm start, it's hard to say exactly - could be fuel related, but I would personally check your EGR valve. I will take a stab in the dark and say it's sticking open during the day when the engine and...

MOT

My Coupe passed the MOT this morning - straight through, no advisories for the 13th year in a row :cheesy:

Just passed the 79,000 mile mark too.

Re: and today i have mostly been...

Today, I managed to replace a microswitch in my passenger seat (and make it work  ) and also spent time* and effort* adjusting my handbrake ready for the MOT that was due last week..... I replaced the rear discs, pads, shoes already ( calipers in the next day or so..) and my handbrake was sti...

Re: AIR BAG warning light

No need, you can hoist the seat up for a better look.
If you choose the remove the seat you can just undo the 4 torx bolts and tip it backwards without undoing the connectors...

Re: AIR BAG warning light

The seat connectors are female, and are held in place by sliding into a slot under the seat - that dangling white one should clip into place next to the yellow one. The loom that comes from under the carpet are the male connectors... If you can see the two smaller connectors, these will probably be ...

Re: AIR BAG warning light

Hi. The plugs under the seats are ( if I remember correctly.. ) Big brown - heated seats. Yellow - power White - empty... Small brown/orange and small blue - side airbags and seat belt pre-tensioner _ it's normally these at fault.. Red - no idea... :cheesy: Don't forget the airbag is essentially an ...

Re: brake booster

If I remember correctly, you just search for '406' and some group suggestions pop up.
406 owners
406 parts
Peugeot parts
Etc etc.

You shouldn't have a problem joining, maybe Paul (DDD) could invite you if you are having difficulty.

Hope you get it sorted.

Re: 406 Bonnet Release Cable

I did a diagnostic a couple of days ago for a chap, but before he came round he changed his headlight bulb - but to gain access he unscrewed the bolt above it... Turns out this bolt keeps the bonnet cable tight so after he shut the bonnet he couldn't open it..!! I did manage to pop it open using a s...

Re: brake booster

I also managed to source a new one about 5 years ago for around £80 but much can happen in 5 years.... I'm not a Facebook user, but when I was there are a few people there on various pages that break 406s. Two names that spring to mind are Nigel Dawson and Freddie Gregory - both chaps are recommende...

Re: Ebay Etc. Just "Run-In" 406s

I'm watching this with interest* as I find it hard to justify that price for a slushmatic that needs a cambelt....
It is clean though, and only £2,600 more than my Coupe cost...

A possible Dogmobile #4?

Looks okay for the money, and it seems 406s are getting thin on the ground nowadays... :(

2.2hdi, Grandad Green, lowish miles, probably fap issues but nothing a bit of fettling won't solve :supafrisk:
