Re: Bad acceleration in low rpm

Agreed - the air flow sensor ( sometimes referred to as a MAF sensor ) gets dirty over time and gives duff information - unplugging it makes the ECU resort to a default setting.... If your car improves then as already suggested, try to find a genuine one ( Siemens VDO) from a local motor factors - c...

Re: Economy mode and being towed

Yes, the economy mode prevented the battery getting to low voltage to start the car - this is its job 8)

It is possible to flatten the battery by simply opening and closing the doors over a few hours ( or testing electric seats  ) because these are not affected by economy mode....

Re: Economy mode and being towed

Economy mode can be deactivated by PP2K by using 'showroom mode', or you could simply start the engine.....

Re: Economy mode and being towed

All it does is switch off the gadgets like stereo, lights etc to save the battery if the car detects a drain - it's supposed to stop the battery going flat if the radio or lights are left on. The seats and windows still work, either for safety or the fact you are sat in the car to use them, so there...

Re: Whats my car worth?

I would be inclined to aim a little higher - there are fewer 406s on eBay or Gumtree etc so a late model Diablo with the tan leather would be quite desirable.

I suggest you aim for £1200 :cheesy:

Re: 807 OBD Pinout

Have you tried to use lexia, and tell it that the car is actually a Citroen instead..??
Worth a go if you have lexia installed too.

Re: MOT

To be fair the credit goes to the previous owners :cheesy:

I've owned it just over a year but still sorting little niggles, and getting used to a petrol engine after years of owning diesel 406s.

True, if the mount is worn it could break the flexy part of the exhaust....

Re: Very Lumpy Starting 406 HDI 2.0 2004

Hi. I'm thinking you have a worn engine mount, which explains the judder upon starting... As for the warm start, it's hard to say exactly - could be fuel related, but I would personally check your EGR valve. I will take a stab in the dark and say it's sticking open during the day when the engine and...

Re: and today i have mostly been...

Today, I managed to replace a microswitch in my passenger seat (and make it work  ) and also spent time* and effort* adjusting my handbrake ready for the MOT that was due last week..... I replaced the rear discs, pads, shoes already ( calipers in the next day or so..) and my handbrake was sti...
