Because it's only the last 7 digits that are numerical on the post - one number missing...

Re: need advoce maf sensor

On a 2.2hdi, yes.
How about unplugging the MAP and connecting the MAF?
Just for curiosity really....

Re: Hello 1st time 406 owner

If you are local to Bournemouth I'm happy to have a look at it for you..
In the meantime you can shove a dishwashing sponge into the cowling around the stalk to keep it from flopping around....

Re: need advoce maf sensor

If there is no fault lights on, I would suggest an injector cleaner and better quality diesel for a couple of tanks - and drive it hard for a while.....
I'm happy to put it on diagnostics if you are local to Bournemouth.

Re: Hello 1st time 406 owner

It can be an expensive fix, and other second hand Comms will be in similar condition. As Steve says above, despite numerous arguments over part numbers, I think there are only 6 variations of Comms unit - as long as the functions are the same ( front fogs, rear wiper, auto lights etc ) then it shoul...

Re: newbie to the cars not just the forum

A few tell tale signs... Side repeaters are clear on a D9, and orange on the D8 Hazard light switch is separate from the rest near the top if the dash on a D9, lower down by the heated rear window on a D8 Instruments in the cluster have a flat bottom on a D8. Also, if you are still unsure - look at ...

I've used the repair company before - a chap called Graeme Hall.
Good service, reliable and knowledgeable.

The car belonged to RWBs partner, who sadly passed away after a relatively short battle with cancer, about a month ago.. :(
At least we all know it's a well looked after car.

Re: Hello

Hi, welcome.
I've had 406s for years but have only recently bought an early V6 Coupe :cheesy:
I'm all for creating a wolf in sheep's clothing, and a V6 306 sounds fun.
Do you have the early engine or the later one with VVT?

Re: Radio/cd player swap

There are two main types of display ( there is a 3rd but it's basic and not common )
Type B - same as yours - has a button each side and is illuminated by 3 bulbs on the back.
Type C - Sat Nav version - has no buttons but an infra red receiver - this is a pixelled screen, illuminated differently.

No hurry, I know it's needed to keep the car mobile ( molegrips are only good short term )

I see you've put it on Facebook, let's hope you get a good home for your parts...

Re: Breaking 406 2.0HDi 110 Saloon, Many Parts

Oh no, that is such a shame - I know how much time and attention you spent in the car.... There is a guy on Facebook looking for half leather saloon interior. I would like the steering wheel, and maybe the Yatour if it will fit a stock D8 stereo, for my D8 Coupe :-) Sadly I've just bought some good ...

Re: need advoce maf sensor

It'll be fine, just not as optimum as it could be with a fully functioning MAF.
My wife's Picasso had it unplugged for nearly 5 years :cheesy:
