Re: air conditioning clutch

Might have to have a rethink on this after seeing the pics on the link given. The compressor I got from the breakers is a Delphi unit with a grey electrical connector, I cant see the compressor on the car very well but it certainly looks like it has a yellow electrical connector which according to t...

air conditioning clutch

Peugeot 406 110 HDI 2003. My air conditioning stopped working last year and when carrying out an oil change I found part of the clutch on the under tray the rivets holding it together had broken, as the pulley was intact and nothing seemed loose I left it as it was. Recently I got another air con co...

Re: Door courtesy light

Had a look this afternoon its not an easy job to access the connections, found the bung behind the kick plate, with this pulled away there are a mass of wires and several connectors but the connectors cant be pulled into the car. Eased off the rubber sleeve from the door post (sleeve between the doo...

Re: Door courtesy light

Very helpful thanks, I think the problem will either be in that connector or the cable area between the door and post where is is continually getting flexed, will see if I can disconnect the plug (got to find it first) then maybe I can get the cables out through the speaker hole and check them.

Door courtesy light

Well I'm back again this time with a door mounted courtesy light issue. I open the door the light comes on and at about 1/3 door open the light goes out, close the door and the light comes back on at about the 1/3 point. I have had the door panel off and there is no visible problem on the cable I ca...

Re: More Gremlins

Done it today   Wasn't as daunting as i thought ended up not using crimps, took photos made notes of matching wires and cut the wire from the plug a pair at a time, soldered them together and heat shrink before moving to the next pair. When done taped them all together in two bundles t...

Re: More Gremlins

Thanks for the advice yes just soldering and heat shrink was my other option got talked into the crimps anyway they're an option, also I have noticed there are some 2 into 1 cables hopefully they won't all part company with the connector while I'm handling them

Re: More Gremlins

Been looking at the problem again today and it looks like the corrosion starts where the cable enters the connector, called at my local breakers they had a same year vehicle in but a saloon not an estate I got the connector and good lengths of cable from it but looking at this alongside mine some ca...

Re: More Gremlins

cutting the wired one at a time and soldering them and covering with heat shrink doesnt sound a bad idea it will remove the water ingress problem and I doubt very much that I will ever need to disconnect these junctions in the future. Will give that some thought, fortunately this is a third car in m...
