Re: Peugeot Festival 2018

Hi & welcome! We've actually been every year since 2012 but we've had our own group in the car park, moving together after the marshals have buzzed off. Frankly I felt somewhat unwelcome compared to the small and modified cars which get all the attention. This seemed to thaw somewhat last year when ...

Re: hope its going to be worth it !!

On the face of it £400 is a lot to spend, but on balance I think you're probably a lot better off fixing the problems you do know about then swapping it for a load of problems you don't know about.

Re: Odd idle speed behaviour

Could it be related to the clutch switch?
IIRC it has something to do with cutting revs when you disengage the clutch

Re: 2-EHN Cetane improver

Only 57.7 on the computer over Christmas -- West Yorkshire is too steep!
Actual 64.8 which again is at the top of the box plot for 57.7.

Very busy at the petrol station today so didn't want to hold people up by faffing about with the additive.

Re: Battery current at rest

Maybe it is better to connect the multimeter first, then disconnect the battery. In this way, the current is never really cut, but just re-routed via the multimeter. After measuring, reconnect the battery first, then disconnect the multimeter. This procedure will save you from having a disconnected...

Re: 2-EHN Cetane improver

Tank 6. (Tank 5 at 75ml.) Computer: 61.5 again Actual: 70.1. Here's a box plot of actual MPG (min, lower quartile, median, upper quartile, maximum) when the computer said 61.5. So clearly this 70.1 is special. I would have put it down to better driving conditions. Previous with 2-EHN and 61.5 comput...

Re: 2-EHN Cetane improver

And another tank.

67.07mpg actual, 61.5 again on the computer.
Had some really bad traffic, a run out to Northampton, and a failed regen so that's better than I expected.

Re: 2-EHN Cetane improver

First tank had 25ml of 2-EHN in it. ... Computer said 61.5mpg for the tank. MPG by brim-to-brim is 68.33 The last times the computer said 61.5 the brim-to-brim were: 68.9, 68.3, 68.9, 69, 67.6, 66.7, 67.9. So on the first tank I think my verdict has to be: no difference. Tank two. 75ml of 2-EHN. Ex...

Re: Autobox on a HDi

I've noticed a lot of 4 cylinder mercs about over the last few months. I (like to) think it's finance wankers who are desperate for the badge and can't afford to buy let alone run a proper one. I did make an A200 very angry when I left it at the lights. I stopped when I reached 70 and a few seconds ...

Re: 2-EHN Cetane improver

Is the 407 trip computer like the 406 where it would settle on the nearest MPG figure that was related to a *l/100km figure? Always used to please me that my HDi90 used to do more MPGees than indicated. My Fords since haven't been so blessed. It's exactly the same: two trips and instantaneous cycle...

Re: 2-EHN Cetane improver

First tank had 25ml of 2-EHN in it. Recommended dose is 1ml per litre of diesel, so under-dosed. Just put in 75ml of 2-EHN and 61.32 litres of diesel. Tank is about 66 litres. Was expecting it to be slightly down as on this tank I'd been to Bridgnorth for some tyres, done a few extra local journeys,...
