Re: OBD help

PP2k is the dealer diagnostic software. By comparison anything else is a waste of time. Besides reading fault codes -- and you can examine every ECU, e.g., BSI, MFD, COM2000,... -- you can also see live parameter measurements, display a graph of parameter measurements (although the graph isn't produ...

Re: 406 LX 2.0 HDI

This is a Bosch because no priming bulb.

Can it be DIY mapped via the OBD port?

EGR disable highly recommended. Just pull and bung the vacuum supply to the electrovalve on the bulkhead.

Re: N75 valve on 2.2 DW12 2.2 HDi engine

I thought there were two types: ones that are either open or closed, and ones that can open partially?

Re: 508

I believe the trim levels are: Access, SR, Active, Allure, GT. and that the GT has the double wishbone front suspension from the 407. The 2.2 HDi is only available with slushmatic and there is a technote about an engine oil leak. I see there's also a new "blueHDi" 150 that takes AdBlue. I noticed ou...

508

So this happened. http://www.406oc.co.uk/download/file.php?mode=view&id=3417 So: thought you might like to know that it's a much more worthy successor to the 406 than is the 407. The 407 would make more sense baged as a Citroen it's so strange. (Although I do like a big strange French car.) The buil...

Re: Dual mass flywheel

the purpose of the DMF is to protect the gearbox from the pulsing power strokes of the engine. Six cyinder engines don't need them because there are more power strokes per cycle. Normally, springs in the friction plate serve this prupose, but in high torque applications you can't fit big enough spri...

Re: Worsening driving standards

It's astonishing, when I'm behind a wagon with the cruise on at 56 -- a constant speed in a straight line -- just how many people try to crash into you. I'd say that the gap I leave was a little on the small size -- I can stop much quicker than a wagon -- but apparently you can fit two BMWs into it....

Re: New member in south wales

I see there is now a report on the coupe club of a fixed 2.2 passing the new MOT. TPS: my 406 ate them. Found that after a while they'd feel gritty when twisting by hand. Cleaning out the old grease and putting in some new fixed them. Note that taking up too much slack out of the cable causes faults.

I was rather surprised when I read the specs for new 508 (attached) how close patrol is to diesel now.

Caliper painting

I'd quite like to do mine black. So I've been paying attention to various posts which seem to vary from "just dawb em up" (which, frankly, is most compatible with my skill level) to removing, shot blasting, etc. Having no idea how they work I picked one up off eBay for £12 so I can see what I'm up a...

Good find http://www.406oc.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f= ... 30#p249390 @caprixpack

Where is the sticker @captainjack?

For those who can remap via OBD maybe a special MOT low-smoke map is a possibility?

Have been in touch with the organisers about a joint stand for larger cars:

Stand: the taxi rank
