Re: Air Doser

Thanks. The thing about the flat spot in acceleration is that it really only happens at lower speeds and going uphill. Through the day, the acceleration gets better than say first thing in the morning. With someone mentioning on one of the quoted threads above "Just for archives, I remedied the prob...

Re: Vibration turning left at low speeds

It turned out my Power Steering fluid level was just a bit below the min. Bought a 100cc oil syringe (£6) sucked up what was left in the PS reservoir, filled up with new fluid, started car and moved wheel full lock to full lock several times. Sucked up that fluid and re-filled with Castrol Transmax ...

Type of Power Steering Fluid

Hi For power steering fluid, the cars manual has 'Total Fluide AT42' as the recommended power steering fluid. This doesn't seem to be available now. The 'Total Fluide AT42' is listed as being GM Dexron III. Would the following be an equivalent to use to the Total power steering fluid? Castrol 184806...

Re: Vibration turning left at low speeds

Hi

Getting the vibration / slight judder turning left round corners at about 10-15mph, also feels like something rubbing occasionally.

Will get the tyres checked out, treads are OK.

Thanks

Vibration turning left at low speeds

Hi

Getting a vibration / slight judder when turning left at low speeds. Don't get this at higher speeds.

Could this be a tyre balance issue or maybe a wheel bearing?

Thanks

Re: N75 valve on 2.2 DW12 2.2 HDi engine

Changed the swirl flap diaghpram and that improved things a bit in terms of no smoke. Still getting flat spots. One other part I am looking at that may be the issue is part no. 1920.GH - intake manifold pressure sensor. Is it worth changing that?

Re: N75 valve on 2.2 DW12 2.2 HDi engine

Hi

Interesting what you say there about cold air getting to the engine as at 60mph plus (colder air being presented to the engine) there are no flat spots, but at lower speeds there is.

No fault codes appear when the engine flat spots.

Thanks

Re: N75 valve on 2.2 DW12 2.2 HDi engine

Smoke test on the vacuum system turned out fine. Garage did some further diagnostics and noted a wiring issue near the turbo / wastegate. A wiring repair was done in the past and it appears this was not done that great back then. The wiring repair done by the current garage made no difference and en...

Re: N75 valve on 2.2 DW12 2.2 HDi engine

Garage is going to do a smoke test to check for boost leaks.

Re: N75 valve on 2.2 DW12 2.2 HDi engine

Indeed, this engine has the most torque of all the engines used in the 406 - 314 N⋅m (232 lb⋅ft) / 2000rpm.

Re: N75 valve on 2.2 DW12 2.2 HDi engine

Hi Not sure if the EGR is blanked - will get that checked. Garage think it could be a wastegate issue on the turbo but I mentioned there's no wastegate on that one (2.2 DW12 - ECU controlled turbo) They thought car was to old for that (non wastegate turbo) but the 2.2hdi was one of the latest engine...

Re: N75 valve on 2.2 DW12 2.2 HDi engine

Hi Garage think the turbo may be at fault, so having it removed for an inspection. Even tried fitting a new Swirl Flap EV. Car drove OK for a short while at speed after new Swirl Flap install then it flat spotted again. It was mentioned to me a couple of years ago that the engine note was indicative...

Re: N75 valve on 2.2 DW12 2.2 HDi engine

Hi

Not local but will ask them to try that.

Is the swirl solenoid part number 1628.CH?

Found the thread below from a few years ago about the DW12 Vac system.
