Re: and today i have mostly been...

Just to prove me wrong 34bq9zPujoE Sorry it's a bit quiet, camera's a bit shagged. Of course, when I went up to clean her litter tray she made one hell of a racket  I guess the problem is they don't know they have names, they possibly only hear a noise that means "Here is food." Or possibly "u...

Re: Engine swap

I think the BSI handles the security so you'll need to swap transponders. Oh, and the dash or it'll do something mental.

I dunno really, there's so much that could be different it's probably safest to say "everything" and count anything less than that as a bonus.

Re: and today i have mostly been...

Last night I hoiked the other two out and shifted the basket to the corner, I thought Annie would choose the best spot but she seems to be content feeding them wherever they are. I'd have to put down about 10 water dishes, Annie gets through quite a lot of the stuff because she's in full dairy produ...

Re: and today i have mostly been...

Thanks! Not a prob Bob, I hope I'm not boring people. Yeah, they are pretty similar, although the little girl that seems to like going around the world is slightly darker, it's quite dark in there so it might be hard to tell. The other two are pretty much identical, although the one that seems to li...

Re: 1.6HDi coming our way - Please Help!

I can't find the specs now but the transmission takes something like 9 litres but if you drain it you only get about 3. When we got the car it looked a bit cloudy, maybe something to with the underdrive failure (it looked fine when we were buying it  ) There's probably a way to pump out the wh...

Re: Auto to manual

Pretty sure I read that on here, after I said they wouldn't be different  Cars, schmars. My interests seem to be heading in a different direction these days, the 406 was bad for my back so it had to go and what I'm driving now is about as interesting as a wet weekend in Margate. There's damn a...

How much of it do you have to dismantle to get to the sump? :supafrisk:

Congratulations on getting to the bottom of that one Welly!

Re: Auto to manual

I know the BSI and engine ecu will throw a wobbly if they don't see the a/t ecu. Apparently there's a way to switch it off once the engine's started. I don't think the engine is physically different, I'm told the V6's are though. Other than that, I've heard that moderns are so over-complicated it's ...

Re: Life span of catalytic converter?

I think they tried to introduce the full throttle test in the UK, then rapidly backed down when people complained about engines blowing up... I don't think anyone on here has experience of cats dying on diesels (petrols yes, but that's another story), the only time they seem to be replaced is when t...

Re: and today i have mostly been...

Thanks, we're kind of ok with it now though, as my wife says don't look at it as we lost 2, rather we gained 3. Plus if I'd realised sooner there wouldn't have been any (no!!) Or if she'd had them in a barn full of rats somewhere... Btw I asked James when that picture was taken 'cos I couldn...

Re: Letter from America

Hey cool, welcome bacK! Glad you all had a good time. Yeah, I've not been to New York but it never sounds that good to me, London with bigger buildings, less litter but more muggers. I loved driving in the US, i can thoroughly recommend it as there's no thinking necessary. The longest trip I did was...

Re: Life span of catalytic converter?

The what is meant to do what? Doggy said they've been clear - of soot. I'm sure the manufacturers would like you to replace your cat on a regular basis but how long they last will depend on many factors, how you drive it, how crap the fuel is, stuff like that. The emissions test in your country shou...

Re: and today i have mostly been...

A swift kitten update, they'll be 2 weeks old tomorrow. We did have a bit of a worry as all their eye opened except one kitten, who still had one eyes mustly shut. I quick internet search provided the expected results, everything from "she'll be right" to "Panic! Risk of blindness, rush to vet's imm...
