Re: Another bargain!

Oh look, I've not posted anything here for 18 months  Sick and tired of looking at overpriced junk being the reason. However, for want of anywhere else to put it... https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/bmUAAOSwrblcEoxC/s-l1600.jpg https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/163429832814?ul_noapp=true This appeared ...

Re: Wanted - Downpipe for 2.2 HDi

I'm looking at the diagrams trying to figure out which part of it you could call a downpipe :? Manifold > turbo > little bit of pipe that actually looks like it's part of the turbo assembly > bit of pipe with the flexible section in it that really is part of the cat assembly.

Re: 1.6HDi coming our way - Please Help!

Oh ffs :( That there''s turning into a bit of a nightmare. What is the car actually worth? I mean, if it was working properly obv. don't worry chaps I'll refit the ashtray myself, it's not like it's fiddly or anything.. Count your blessings, they could have jammed it in sideways breaking all the tab...

Re: and today i have mostly been...

A few days before that it was still 20 degrees odd. We get that here too, although some days the fog is actually bad enough to warrant turning fog light on. Of course they don't  One thing I would say for modern cars is at least there's far less of those "it was a bit foggy so I turned my fog ...

Er yeah, snow

Is that good or bad? Not enough to bother breaking out the snow shovel but there's more forecast for this week :(

Re: and today i have mostly been...

It'll have to wait until the floor's down upstairs (Miloš is coming soon, apparently) to actually have much of an effect but for now I know that the small amount of heat in there will be drying the boards out - they weren't particularly dry to start off with and then the wind blew snow in there thro...

Re: and today i have mostly been...

I'm liking the flue brackets! Fankyew 8) I made them with my own (scratched, scabby and dry) hands out of bits and bobs (i.e. a load of old junk) I had hanging about. Indeed, as far as I remember the label said it'd heat 144sq.m. if run continuously, half that if it's not. Anyway, after 2 days it's...

Re: and today i have mostly been...

Oh no, suggestions welcom - I don't want to build it all permanently and think "why didn't I..?" According to the interwebs this stove puts out 23884.991431BTU. I do have a heap of old wood for burning but the main boiler on the house is wood-powered, I can always order an extra couple of pallets. B...

Re: and today i have mostly been...

You've set me thinking (again). That there stove isn't really powerful enough to heat the whole building, especial with zero insulation, The reason it's there is I just wanted to get some heat in the main workroom, where I suspect I'll be spending most of my time, and I just kind of copied the set u...

Re: and today i have mostly been...

No news is good news on the cat front, although Pickle doesn't seem to be eating as much as she usually does so I'm keeping my eye on her for early signs of diarrhoea ("Why do you keep looking at my bottom daddy?") and depression. Currently she's sitting on my lap clawing my arm... Shed-wise, it loo...

Re: Now look who's got a Volvo...

Would it have held on to its value more in Ford guise? My nephew has a Volvo at the moment too, he went out to his van last week (BT van, it's a family curse I tell thee) to find the passenger footwell swimming. Took it to his local MTW to be told the heater matrix had gone (in my day you were lucky...

Re: and today i have mostly been...

Thanks guys, I'm feeling my more philosophical about it today. I'm not sure about a difficult trip to the vet's, more like I was driving how everyone else here drives - "get out of my way or I'll ram you!" I've just come back from there again, I've been a-buying worming pills and flea ampoule...

Re: 1.6HDi coming our way - Please Help!

Good luck! I'll be forwarding any results to my bro as my dad still has his Citroen leap-o-matic which I think is doing something similar, although reports seem to vary between "bit more revs, bit more and BANG!! WE'RE OFF" or "we're going anyway, ready or not" resulting recently in a new garage doo...

Re: and today i have mostly been...

And back down to six cats :( This morning we lost Frankie. He'd been poorly for a couple of weeks with this bladder infection but Saturday night he started vomiting, Sunday morning to the vet's for more antibiotics and anti-emetics. He just wouldn't eat though, seemed to want to avoid us and hide so...

Re: Trip Computer and Outside temperature not displayed

It's on the driver's side, whichever that is. So yes, on your left-hooker it's on the left. I can't honestly remember what it involves but you should be able to get to it without removing the carpet, you'll probably have to remove trim to lift that side of the carpet though. Whether you'll end up li...
