Re: Worsening driving standards

What, not people who don't stop at roundabouts? Charging ahead regardless of whatever is coming (yes, I'm talking about that roundabout again

Re: and today i have mostly been...

That's very often the case, I'm told cat food has way too much protein in it and will eventually damage their kidneys. I lost John John that way, although I found him in my garage one day probably after being hit by car and his jaw was broken so he had too few teeth left to know how old he was. Than...

Re: and today i have mostly been...

I'm afraid I've just buried Teenie Weenie Propeller Beanie. She got hit by a car Monday, it took us a while to realise she was missing and Srećko, our old tabby tom, had to show us where she was hiding. In obvious pain with blood coming out of her waterworks, straight to the vet's she went. The x-ra...

Re: Oil pressure light can!

Apparently oil filters do still have a bypass valve inside them so yes, as above, change the oil filter.

Re: Oil pressure light can!

You have an oil pressure light? My HDi didn't so I assumed none of them did. Is it clattery when the oil light is on? Without an accurate way of measuring the oil pressure your safest option is to change the oil and filter. I'm not sure if they have them any more but I've had issues in the p...

Re: and today i have mostly been...

Cheers :cheesy: It's a bit here and there in the detail and the wood's a bit crap but I'm quite chuffed with the overall look of the thing - who'd have thought it would end up looking like that? 8) Wot, can't-see-it-until-you've-smashed-your-head-on-it black and straight-from-the-garden-with...

Re: and today i have mostly been...

When Lidl first appeared here the tools really were junk, I bought a vacuum cleaner that lasted maybe a year but the design of it meant that stuff circulated inside the dust container until it was pulverised into a fine powder and then blocked the filter, so I assumed everything else they were selli...

Re: and today i have mostly been...

Labour's not so expensive here but it still costs. It would certainly cost if I had to rush to a sawmill every time I wanted to make or modify something made out of wood. First bit of wallpapering I ever did - hallway, stairs, landing. The worst thing imaginable really, I really could've done with s...

Re: and today i have mostly been...

The Bank of Earwig is indeed not bottomless, I am burning through my savings but I have to be realistic. E.g. today Lidl are selling cordless screwdrivers for 22 quid, which is a bargain but I won't be buying one as I don't absolutely need one. I absolutely do need a saw bench though, the old one's ...

Am I the only person in the world who thinks apples are overrated? https://i.imgur.com/8w1ojoP.jpg In other news, the motor in my saw bench crapped out. Bosch green PTS10, needs a new armature, cost 100 quid and takes 2 months to get here. It might be worth it but it's 12 years old, the plastic's ge...

Re: Have I broken our 1.6HDi turbo charger?

...really wish I had a smoke testing machine to pump into it all. I just watched a DIY one on youtube (which I'm not going to link because irritating) but basically, a jamjar with a soldering iron through the lid, also pipe in and pipe out, baby oil, a bicycle tyre pump. Oh, and a pair of old socks...
