Re: AL4 Auto Box - Anyone performed the Borg Warner Solenoids upgrade?

Not sure if it'll be the same but the filter in the Toyota's gearbox is just a screen, it didn't catch any of the (admittedly fine) crap that was floating about in the oil.

Re: Welly in the Guinness Book of Records

What the have to do next year is line them up in order of power output, so the most powerful car is at them back. Then get them all touching and use the car at the back to push the whole lot... :supafrisk: R Book of Records? Not G? Is that a typo or am I showing my iggnerants? You watch, on the next...

Re: and today i have mostly been...

...suffering :( I've stuffed up my back again. How did it happen? Was it carrying those big tubes about to make the stairs? Was it shifting heavy stuff up and down those stairs? Was it digging out tree stumps? Hell no, it was putting a tray of flowering plants in the back of the Yoyo :( And I have a...

Re: AL4 Auto Box - Anyone performed the Borg Warner Solenoids upgrade?

Can you get any fault codes off of it? We're not too familiar with the auto boxes fitted to 406's here, you'd probably be better off looking at the coupe club, where they're more common. It's probably the solenoids sticking, the fault is flagged because of the difference between expected data and ac...

Re: Anyone had a Smart Meter fitted at home?

Phillips, Verbatim, Robus, Aurora or LAP. I think the only one of those bands I've seen here was Phillips but I think they were in the "holy sh*t, I'm not paying 30 quid for a light bulb!" section. Other than all the "never blood heard of them" brands I've only seen the GE, which are some (probably...

Re: Anyone had a Smart Meter fitted at home?

I was hoping for a way to tell before actually buying them. Ok, I'll go along with them being more efficient but not as efficient as advertised, plus they're not exactly cheap to begin with and don't seem to last all that long (even the GE marked ones, which turn out not to be anything to do with Ge...

Re: Anyone had a Smart Meter fitted at home?

Most quality, branded domestic LED lamps will have measured in the internal circuitry to correct this power factor. I don't think it's just led bulbs we have to worry about, there's just been a hell of a lot of them sold on the "this'll save you a packet" boast. Is there actually any way of telling...

Re: Anyone had a Smart Meter fitted at home?

Edit: Gah! You got in their first Sam. It seems to be where the actual load is out of phase with the voltage, so peak demand is not occurring at the same time as (ac) peak voltage and actually increasing the current draw. It's why psu's and electric motors give their power rating in kva, rather than...

Re: Anyone had a Smart Meter fitted at home?

We have one, but we've also got solar panels. The buggers here lopped off the feed in tariffs just as we were installing so we're not getting the big money we were expecting. Seems they'd rather spend the money on a coal-fired power station instead  We were paying them and then getting money f...

Just to prove me wrong 34bq9zPujoE Sorry it's a bit quiet, camera's a bit shagged. Of course, when I went up to clean her litter tray she made one hell of a racket  I guess the problem is they don't know they have names, they possibly only hear a noise that means "Here is food." Or possibly "u...

Re: Engine swap

I think the BSI handles the security so you'll need to swap transponders. Oh, and the dash or it'll do something mental.

I dunno really, there's so much that could be different it's probably safest to say "everything" and count anything less than that as a bonus.

Last night I hoiked the other two out and shifted the basket to the corner, I thought Annie would choose the best spot but she seems to be content feeding them wherever they are. I'd have to put down about 10 water dishes, Annie gets through quite a lot of the stuff because she's in full dairy produ...
