Re: Remote locking ceased

Buy a Volvo with Ford central locking, that way you won't be able to lock it properly and therefore don't need to worry about it.

Would it really be a problem if cars were left largely unlocked?

Re: GDPR emails

Didn't think they'd apply in crowhaysher :?

I'm ignoring all of them cos I'm dead cool and won't be bothered about stuff. Or something.

Probs won't be so cool in a months time when my bank account gets locked down, the car insurance expires and they've been round to cut the Gas off.

GDPR emails

They're coming in thick and fast now, I don't really give a sh*t about what it all means but in basic terms am I right in saying "if you don't agree to us keeping your personal data then we can't send you any more emails and sh*t" ?? they're certainly coming over as "please don't go" and all that.

Dare's you to put that bottle back with your missus' toiletries :cheesy: I see your 'cat skeleton' and raise you a freshly killed adult pigeon; on its back with its chest fully open, dark red breast meat eaten away with breast bone exposed and fully exposed stomach contents (bird seed) on the side. ...

Re: Warning to Photobucket Users

Since the dust has settled, who's using which hosting service now?

Any good ones/bad ones?

Ease of use etc?

I've not even bothered to look into any yet. I wonder how PB are getting on now? :?

Re: Wheel Bearing roulette - Volvo woes

Excellent advice as per usual on here thanks. Makes sense to keep giving the wheels a good wobble. Because I know the car so intimately (9 years of driving it) I have most likely caught this noise in the very early stages so feel I have good time to sort it but also asap. No clicking from my Drivesh...

Re: Wanted 2.0 8v turbo engine

Blimey, that's a good one, even when this forum was really popular 10 years ago the petrol tubby engines were rare here. Most 406's are dizzlers which I guess you already know.

You never know though someone might have a lead for you so good luck with your enquiries it's always worth asking.

Wheel Bearing roulette - Volvo woes

The Lolvo's front wheel bearings are worn, seemed to happen after the car was laid idle for 3 weeks anyway; they are known for this because: Ford parts. Question is, there's no 'play' in the bearings but I can hear them; that 'woo woo woo' sound when cornering slightly and if I turn the roadwheel by...

My experience with the PSA 'DV' engines is they always seem to take exavtly 4 litres to the max line.
Bang on that man! the 3.8ltrs is just short of max.

Re: and today i have mostly been...

That's certainly an 'interesting' structure. Over here, and in a commercial capacity the inside of the building would be 'framed out' with steel beams to catch all of the wooden structures so that the supporting work is then the steelworks job. Prolly a bit OTT for what you need but over here the co...

Re: 2 different cars, 2 oil changes, both came up short

To be fair I'd rather keep the level just below Max because max really is max so why risk going near it. Conversely if most folk took a car to a garage for an oil change and saw it was short of max they'd likely complain they'd been short-changed. Perhaps garages over-fill cars for this reason. Be i...

1.6 HDi was 3.8 ltrs

Volvo was 5.8 ltrs

2 different cars, 2 oil changes, both came up short

Actually 3 oil changes over the last two weekends but the Twingo behaved itself (apart from disgracing itself with a weepy sump washer). My point is having drained (very drained) both the Citroen HDi and the Volvo, changed oil filter cartridges, and refilled using EXACTLY the manufacturers oil capac...
