Re: Anyone had a Smart Meter fitted at home?

Blimey, thanks, I'll get the kettle on  Sadly there's no bulkhead on the garages, I'd wanted to do the same before but 'wall washers' are the only option. Actually I still have a screwfix HI/LO bulkhead fitting with motion sensor and dawn/dusk sensor with a GLS filament bulb that's never been c...

Re: Anyone had a Smart Meter fitted at home?

The road is private so there's no council street lampage, the developer put these Bollards in for everyone although I seem to be the only one who's been able to replace the control gear on mine and keep the thing going. I converted next-door's to 240v E27 flourescent cluster (energy saving) thing wh...

Re: Welly in the Guinness Book of Records

Yes I found out yesterday :( To be honest there was far too many cars there I think it surprised the organisers and it kinda fell into a free for all, no-one knew what was going on half the time. It was a good atmosphere though so glad I went, it was good to see inside Bruntingthorpe it's literally ...

Re: Anyone had a Smart Meter fitted at home?

Bailes - I have a Bollard fitting on the front of the house with a SON-E 70w lamp and control gear, wondering if this is a drain on the leccy bills (it's on a dawn/dusk sensor) I always thought it was an efficient way of lighting but would an LED "corn" type lamp be much better for me?

Re: Anyone had a Smart Meter fitted at home?

I think new homes design is way off where it should/could be, even the layout of houses hasn't changed much. A minor thing but I think new houses should have a proper laundry room large enough to wash, dry and iron clothes - out of the way of the main living spaces. Ground/Air source heat pumps for ...

Re: Anyone had a Smart Meter fitted at home?

Your Water has changed a lot  What's the thing with dishwashers? even on 'Eco' ours runs for at least 2 hours, probably 2.5hrs, why is it so long? and especially as Mrs_Welly insists on 'mega rinsing' everything before it goes in the machine... I might suggest tonight that we wash up the old ...

Re: Anyone had a Smart Meter fitted at home?

I chose Green Network Energy. No smart meters involved for either. I'm with GNE, they tried to increase my monthly amount from 138.00 to 168.00 based on 'usage' .....I conducted a metered 14 day test with them and they said "oh ok you can stay on the 138.00 plan). To be fair I've had this with all ...

Re: Anyone had a Smart Meter fitted at home?

I've had a lot of GU10 lamps fail 'early' one lasted about 6 minutes and literally POPPED - loud enough for us all to rush and see what it was. I've noticed the face of the LED 'bulb' is cool but some of the control stuff/circuit gets quite warm behind it. Standard house lighting Twin & Earth is 1.0...

Re: Anyone had a Smart Meter fitted at home?

Very interesting, I've almost gone 'full led' at home but haven't noticed the reduction in electricity use I was expecting :frown:

What do you mean about LED's having a poor power factor?

Anyone had a Smart Meter fitted at home?

Recently been doing my annual negotiations with Energy Suppliers :frown: British Gas came up cheapest on U-Switch so chose them but I had a real job getting a decent deal with costs coming in high all-round. Reading the small print the day before my 14 day cooling off period :o and I was 'obliged' t...

Re: and today i have mostly been...

Of course, being basically cats, they're not paying a blind bit of notice   We convinced ourselves that our cats pay attention when we called their names....until I found they would still give you a half-arsed "what you shouting me for" gaze if you called them "Dave", "Tree", "13A Plug" ...

Re: 406's.........the future is bleak!!

Toyota Avensis..... post 2002/3... ? May as well hang up your driving gloves and call it a day  I know Toyoyo's are very proficient at being 'cars' but they lack soul and character that the 406 just....has. I'm not sure the 406's handling was that good really, the 405 I had was super-sharp but...

Re: and today i have mostly been...

I guess if they want to wonder around then they should do, from what I saw of 'those' kittens last summer they never go too far away from Mum :D

Can you put down very small water dishes, like a saucer?

Yay! the fighters!

Good luck with telling them apart

Thanks for posting :D
