Re: MOT YET AGAIN

Yeah, ideally I'd like to get my hands on a 3.0 or even 2.2 high spec estate, but I suppose gooduns are like rocking horse sh*t nowadays.
Anyway, my old 2.0 110 has another 12 months ticket so all is good with the world.

MOT YET AGAIN

Like going to the dentist the MOT, for me, is one big stress event. But today the old lugger went straight through under the new system. 2 advisories: one a wiper. The other, some pins/bushes in the rear that need monitoring. £100 if it needs doing. Well happy! But check this baby out. https://www.a...

Turbo sound??

My motor goes really well: 406 est 98000 miles 2. HDI
it might be my ears but I think it's developed a sort of hissing sound when foot to the floor and revs mid range. Nothing on general motoring and nothing at lower revs. No discernable smoke from the exhaust.
Is it anything to worry about?

MOT

Blimey, it's getting near the annual nail biting visit to the MOT bay.
Is it worth changing the air filters and all that for the emissions test?

Not done more than 7000 since late change

Waddaya think :cheesy:

Crazy central locking

OK you might know the answer to this, or perhaps have a good laugh at least: I tried to marry up the ignition key to get the remote working again. Didn't work, again, despite following grateful step by step instructions from another member. Must be me I'm thinking. However, it knocked out the centra...

Re: Plip key battery replacement

How do you know if the plip is actually sending a signal or been short circuited when changing the battery?

Central Locking Plip not working

I disconnected my battery [don't ask]. Everything works ok but the central locking plip [battery fine etc] has stopped, not a really big issue but you don't realise how much you use it until it stops. So, I want to get it going again. The sequence of ignition pressing buttons etc doesn't work. Peuge...

Tailgate handle where number plate lights are

Hi, Anyone know how the handle cowling is held on? I closed my tailgate with a bit of a push today and heard a crack. The right side of cowling is ever so slightly loose: minor movement. Thought it might have cracked inside or a clip has come loose. Will have to remove the interior door card, but is...

Re: New member

I've now had the 406 almost a year. I prefer it from my wife's Focus estate 15 plate, enjoy the cheap running, almost 50 to the gallon on a run to Stockport from the midlands over the peaks, love the smooth quiet un-hurried cruise wherever I go, with the ability to boot it if necessary. Settle comfo...
