Re: New member

Have you tried starting the car and pressing the bug button once as soon as you start the car then turn off remove key and try it. It worked for mine when I came to it one morning and it had forgotten both keys.

Re: and today i have mostly been...

Trying to find the God awful buzzing from behind the bloody dash. It only happens when the engine is running the controls on the climate control doesn't effect it at all. Now it seems to be on permanently after about 2 minutes of the engine running.

Re: Another MOT shake up

Luckily mine is a b5.5 with the pd engine, before all this nonsense started. Definitely been the best family car we've had by miles. Although I do think the US has blown it way out of proportion especially when you see what their huge pick ups are chucking out, but that's OK their classed as commerc...

Re: Another MOT shake up

I have just bought a 56 A4 3.0Tdi which was built without DPF. Didn't become standard fit on those until 2008. Need to find out if it's safe to get a remap on it. My understanding is that a properly done remap can result in more power/torque AND cleaner emissions due to the car burning the fuel in ...

Do you know what your test results are?

I will have a look for the plate on the A4
Last year it was just under 1.0 if I remember right, but this was before using 2 stroke every tank so hopefully this year it will be lower.

Re: Another MOT shake up

I know I had thought the same but it's also an immediate fail if the sticker or plate has been removed or tampered with according to the draft put out on the .Gov website.

Re: Another MOT shake up

I do believe their is some truth in what the person said. https://i.imgur.com/CMb2S7z.png My passat which is a 2005 euro 4 and non dpf has said plate figure of 0.60 which is less than some dpf equipped cars state on the plate.so if your 2000 as an example diesel has a figure on the manufacturers pla...

Re: Another MOT shake up

I've never had anyone remove the brake fluid, oil or radiator cap on an mot. Like I said I don't think they're allowed to remove the cap for the MOT.
