Re: Steel Wheel Bolts

Don't buy used wheel bolts  , new ones can be had cheap enough.

I wish I only had to pay £4 odd for wheel bolts, should try getting some for my 924 £35+ each if you can find them.

Re: Caliper painting

Personally I prefer the 'new' look. Refurbished calipers on my 924. https://i.imgur.com/lacp3JE.jpg https://i.imgur.com/vpAG8t2.jpg Send em off and they come back like new, no faffing and no risking damaging or putting it back together wrong. It comes fresh with new seals, piston, bleed nipple and g...

Re: What is this dangling hose on front of my engine?

That's how it is on mine, seems a bit half arsed but I guess that's how they are. It might be worth just checking that the bleed screw is tight, if there's diesel in the tube it's most likely leaking.

Re: Motorcycling and getting a licence. Caution: 46 yr old man talking

. A 'Caterham' type thing would be fun I guess but you can't really go hooning around the roads like a twat for long without drawing attention to yourself, you might have guessed I like speed  erm I guess it would be a laugh though but costly to get something half decent?, could go on track d...

Re: Motorcycling and getting a licence. Caution: 46 yr old man talking

No one over the age of 45 should attempt to pass a driving test of ANY description! Borrow the De Lorean, Mr McWelly and pop back to 1990 (when we all still knew everything). Seriously though, I've never ridden a motorbike and don't intend to try anytime soon. I have a keenly honed sense of my own ...

Speaker upgrade

I'm after some better speakers for the GTX. After fitting a new head unit I did notice an improvement, but they still sound rather poor.

Yeah bottom right hand corner of the sticker  I doubt my passat would have been able to blow that from new.

Re: New member

Have you tried starting the car and pressing the bug button once as soon as you start the car then turn off remove key and try it. It worked for mine when I came to it one morning and it had forgotten both keys.

Re: and today i have mostly been...

Trying to find the God awful buzzing from behind the bloody dash. It only happens when the engine is running the controls on the climate control doesn't effect it at all. Now it seems to be on permanently after about 2 minutes of the engine running.

Re: Another MOT shake up

Luckily mine is a b5.5 with the pd engine, before all this nonsense started. Definitely been the best family car we've had by miles. Although I do think the US has blown it way out of proportion especially when you see what their huge pick ups are chucking out, but that's OK their classed as commerc...

Re: Another MOT shake up

I have just bought a 56 A4 3.0Tdi which was built without DPF. Didn't become standard fit on those until 2008. Need to find out if it's safe to get a remap on it. My understanding is that a properly done remap can result in more power/torque AND cleaner emissions due to the car burning the fuel in ...

Do you know what your test results are?

I will have a look for the plate on the A4
Last year it was just under 1.0 if I remember right, but this was before using 2 stroke every tank so hopefully this year it will be lower.
