Re: Display light doesn't turn off

Is your car a sedan? Sometimes water gets into the CD Changer wiring in the boot, and the car electrics go funny.... Even if you have no CD Changer, the empty connector could be wet... Thank you! Meanwhile, car turned back to the normal behavior without me doing anything... I guess she's having jok...

Display light doesn't turn off

Hi guys, I just got back at my car after 1 week of no using and when I got into the car, the display light was on , like how it is when the headlights are turned on ( not maximum intensity), and no outdoor temperature information, and also, I can't switch to the real time consumption and range or an...

Re: Peugeot 406 2.0 HDI 90HP, cold start problem

From my experience your problem appears to be a classic glow plug fault or an injector issue. The injectors you fitted were second hand, how do you know they are working perfectly? Hi jasper5 and sorry for this late response, Yes, the injectors were second hand, but before putting them on the car, ...

To check for oil leak, you might do a less intruding analysis with an endoscope (small camera with a light in it on a flexible stick) to look inside the chambers when the engine is cold and has not run for a while.
Roger that! :cheesy: I will buy one only for this purpose!
Thank you!

Re: Peugeot 406 2.0 HDI 90HP, cold start problem

I think you may have an injector problem here, however, by the looks of things and given the mileage (high Kilometers covered) I think you should be realistic and see that this problem may be one of a tired engine. I agree with your mechanic...the smoke looks like unburnt diesel. Sadly, it's not an...

Re: Peugeot 406 2.0 HDI 90HP, cold start problem

Hi guys After a walk to the mechanic, he said that certainly it is not the steam valve seals. Here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yz_fTT4Tagw I uploaded a video with a start at 20+ C degrees, and even in the night there was above 15 C degrees. You can notice the smoke after starting, and if you're...

Re: Peugeot 406 2.0 HDI 90HP, cold start problem

Once again, thank you very, very much for these valuable informations.
I will definitely investigate on this path ...

I will come back in a few days with updates.

I'm working at 200 miles away now and I get the chance to see the car only by the weekend. :(

Re: Peugeot 406 2.0 HDI 90HP, cold start problem

I guess, removing the cylinder head would give me some definitely aswers, and by that I refer to the valve stem seals, head gasket and so on...
By then, I think I will buy an endoscope camera to do what you said.

Is it possible to replace to valve steam seals without removing the cylinder head? :D

Re: Peugeot 406 2.0 HDI 90HP, cold start problem

That's a good idea. You could well have a tiny leak at the fuel filter, (can be too small for fuel to leak out, but air still gets in). It's also worth checking the strainer, (filter), in the fuel tank is not blocked, this can give similar problems. Hi, Doggy Thanks for the informations. I will com...

Re: Peugeot 406 2.0 HDI 90HP, cold start problem

Could well be the problem. Did we determine if your car has a Bosch or Siemens fuel system? It has a Siemens fuel system. I've changed HP pump including it's pressure regulator, 3 injectors, glow plugs, glow plugs rely, coolant temp sensor, ECU.... and none of these bring any improvements. Even now...
