Re: Wiring diagram for central locking needed

The possibility of a lock confusing the BSI is just a theory at the moment but I think it's worth looking at, who knows how the BSI actually works, the overly complicated little $#!¥.
Spookily, my handbrake is completely useless, you must be psychic!

Re: Wiring diagram for central locking needed

I'm pretty familiar with the old "bouncing locks" but this one is doing something I've never seen before, it's driving the locks into the unlock position continuously until all the motors burn out. I was wondering if the BSI was waiting for a unlocked indication from one of the front doors, the logi...

Re: Wiring diagram for central locking needed

Top man! That's exactly what I was looking for, thanks Steve.
I'll work my way through that little lot this weekend, if I discover anything useful I'll be sure to post.

Re: Wiring diagram for central locking needed

Steve- there's actually a lot more going on than your wiring diagram suggests. As I mentioned above there are several switches in the front lock mechanisms: door (open/close), lock (lock/unlock) and key position (lock/unlock). There's also a second motor which controls the deadlock and that's contro...

Re: Wiring diagram for central locking needed

Thanks Steve but that's actually from the resource Doggy mentioned, so far I've seen that and autodata's wiring diagram. Does anyone have a decent scan of the Haynes diagram?

Re: Wiring diagram for central locking needed

Thanks Doggy, I appreciate the input. That looks like a good resource although the central locking seems to have only a partial wiring diagram. The locking mechanisms on my car have extra components, in the front mechanisms there is a door open/close switch, a door lock/unlock switch and a key posit...

Wiring diagram for central locking needed

Hi all, as per the title, I need help locating a decent wiring diagram for the central locking. I've taken a look at auto data and their diagram isn't great unfortunately.
My car is a 2002 406 90hp Bosch but I'm guessing all the 2002 406's will share the same central locking.
Thanks. Lee.

Wanted-Door latches

Hi all, I'm having a go at resurrecting my central locking and need a couple of latches, the passenger side front and drivers side rear. My car is a 2002 saloon, I'm not sure about the rear latch but I know the front latch is the one with the visible motor housing on these models. If anyone can help...

Re: Cure found for poor fm reception

Nope, no compromises at all. The radio will be just as sensitive as before with no loss of quality;)

Re: Cure found for poor fm reception

In my case the problem wasn't a dry joint, the radios front end locked down completely due to the agc control going tits up, this was most likely caused by a corruption in the software that controls it. Agc is only usually necessary in am where a strong signal can distort the modulation, in fm we ca...

Re: Cure found for poor fm reception

Doggy- my reception was completely useless on fm, even if I manually tuned to a known station the reception was still awful. It sounds like your issue isn't near as severe as mine. If I were you I'd confirm the problem is the head unit and not your ariel by sticking a length of wire in the ariel soc...

Re: Cure found for poor fm reception

Anyone trying this fix, post to let everyone know whether it worked for you. It will be interesting to see if all these head units are suffering the same failure.

Re: Cure found for poor fm reception

Thanks. As you said, the poor fm reception is a very common problem with these stereos, I'm not certain whether they all fail in the same manor but if they do, this is the fix 8)

Cure found for poor fm reception

Well, what a day, I finally have my fm back on my factory head unit. Here's what happened. One day, out the blue, the fm on my pu-2473a head unit disappeared, it scanned and went through the motions of working but wouldn't pick anything up, on "am" on my stereo was working fine. We thought it was mo...

Re: Wanted Clarion PU-2473A for spares

Radio fixed! It took a great deal of time to figure out but the cure is quite simple, just a matter of bridging two solder joints where the rf board meets the main board. I'll post a tutorial next.
